Who's Dr Warren?

Dr Warren is a vibrant, motivated and enthusiastic individual who's goal is to see his patients live their lives to the utmost.

Warren received his M.Tech. Chiropractic from the Durban University of Technology at the end of 2008 and as well as his work in private practice, he also worked in personal training for 8 years from 2004 to 2012 which has enabled him to assist his patients not only with losing weight and getting fit, but also with improving posture and ergonomics, rehabilitation, and overall well being.

Along with his practice in Westville, Dr Warren also recently purchased a practice at the Kings Park Sports Medicine Centre from Dr Natalie Robertson who emigrated to the UK.  In this practice, he works closely with a number of other health professionals e.g. Physiotherapists, Biokinetisists, Sports Doctor, Homeopath, and Podiatrist to name a few.

Dr Warren takes a holistic approach to treatment incorporating a lot of manual therapy such as massage, ischaemic compression and cross friction into his sessions.  He also uses dry needling as well as electro modalities (e.g. TENS) to promote pain relief and reduced inflammation.

As he has been in the health and fitness industry for many years now as a personal trainer, one of Dr Warren's interests is rehabilitation and promotion of general health and well-being.  He likes to work closely with personal trainers ensuring that they are aware of his patients’ conditions and what they can do during training times to facilitate their treatment.  He also facilitates the public through educational presentations as well as exercise classes aimed mainly on core stability training.

Dr Warren firmly believes that knowledge is power as he spends a lot of his time on educating his patients about what they should or shouldn’t be doing to expedite their recovery.  It is an unfortunate reality that many patients come with a complaint for which they have already been treated, however the previous practitioner failed to clearly explain all aspects of their condition and treatment to the patient.  If the patient knows and understands what the problem is and what is being done to fix it, they then have the resolve to do whatever is necessary to see the treatment through to the end and are therefore more likely to have a favourable prognosis.

Dr Warren treats many different conditions including all extremities e.g. knee pain, shoulder pain (e.g. rotator cuff injuries), wrist pain (e.g. carpal tunnel syndrome) and foot pain (e.g. plantar fasciitis) to name a few.  One of his interests is sports related injury and rehabilitation; in fact his masters research dissertation was on shoulder injuries in body builders.  This is on top of his management of your day-to-day aches and pains specifically back pain, neck pain and headaches generally related to work stress and poor posture.  Warren also promotes Chiropractic as a very effective form of management for pregnancy and colic having treated my own daughter since she was born.

Dr Warren is also currently the Vice President of the BNi Chapter that he attends in Durban.

Warren has been happily married to his beautiful wife, Claudette since 2002, and they have a wonderful daughter, Eden (5).  Together they are active members in Solution Church in Westville.
